Pipe Laying Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the lay out, assembly and installation of various sizes and types of underground drainpipes on company projects,including Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP), Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB), Structural Steel Plated (SSP) and Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP).
• Study project specifications with project engineer to plan sequencing and schedule for pipe installation.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of pipe laying crews.
• Utilize heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe, and continually inspect work site surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
• Responsible for crew safety, and enforcing company & country policy and laws.
• Sequence pipe installation to reduce interference with other project activities and traveling public.
• Observe assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions, and expeditiously report machine malfunctions and defects to project engineer.
• Review and approve employee time cards.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• 7 to 10  years of related experience
• Technical Diploma or Equivalent combinations of training
• Knowledge of all construction equipment
• Experienced Supervisor for infrastructure underground Pipe Laying & Civil Works
• Self motivated with high energy level
• High level of English/Spanish communicating and listening skills
• Ability to supervise pipe fitters crews and oversee projects efficiently
• Problem solving and decision making skills
• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
• Ability to read and write English/Spanish to keep daily progress records
• Time management skills
• Must work independently
• Maintain a schedule of work
