Operator - Grader

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating the grader and other heavy equipment in a safe, appropriate, and efficient way according to all procedures manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, compactors, and other mobile equipment.
• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as scheduled and/or required.
• Perform daily/routine safety and maintenance checks, and should practice workplace safety.
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Advise the Public Works Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• 2 to 5 years of related experience
• Technical Diploma or Equivalent combinations of training
• Ability to operate mobile and heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Team building skills
• Problem solving and decision making skills
• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
• Ability to read and write English/Spanish to keep daily records
• Time management skills
• Must work independently
• Maintain a schedule of work
• The Grader Operator is required to have a Class 1 Drivers License and/or a Heavy Equipment Operators Licence.
