Operator - Asphalt Plant

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the asphalt plant, perform major and minor repairs and maintenance on the asphalt plant, and report to Asphalt Plant Manager.
• Monitor the operation and maintenance of the asphalt plant and construction equipment by; determining the proper quantities of materials needed to produce asphalt, maintaining the speed of systems, ensuring the plant is operating at the proper temperature, ensuring that the plant is operating in accordance with Company policies and procedures, performing repairs on compressors, motors, belts, and performing preventative maintenance, such as greasing and corrosion control, assisting the yard crew with the repair of heavy construction equipment.
• Supervise the loading of asphalt into trucks by ensuring spill prevention during off loading.
• Monitors inventory and ordering, sign for receipt of goods, and load asphalt from the silo to the kettle.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• 2 to 5 years of related experience
• Technical Diploma or Equivalent combinations of training
• Ability to operate, maintain mobile and heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Team building skills
• Problem solving and decision making skills
• Effective verbal and listening communications skills
• Ability to read and write English/Spanish to keep daily records
• Time management skills
• Must work independently
• Ability to maintain a schedule of work
• The Operator is required to have a Heavy Equipment Operators Licence.
