Heavy Equipment Mechanic Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Workshop Manager in maintaining the workshop
• Ensure proper handling of materials and allocation of jobs to appropriate service personnel
• Oversee the service and repair works of all jobs to ensure conformity with standard specifications and quality of service
• Allocate jobs to appropriate service personnel, keeping in view the nature of repairs and the mechanical specifications, to ensure proper quality of repair
• Ensure the repairs are conducted in accordance with the product specifications and within the standards
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Technical school diploma (Mechanical) with 8 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment is required, including supervisory experience
• Knowledge of operations and work in Nigeria is a plus
• Knowledge of supervisory techniques
• Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment (Caterpillar, Mercedes, Volvo, etc.)
• Ability to read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and reference manuals
• Ability to monitor and evaluate problems and team performance in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness
• Ability to instruct and supervise the disassembly and assembly of engines and parts
• Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
• Good Command of English and good PC Skills (Excel, Word, emails and internet search)
